background

the westmoreland berry farm is a riverside family-operated farm in virginia’s historic northern neck. it offers fun for all ages during the spring, summer and fall, including pick-your-own strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, pumpkins and more. visitors also won’t forget the farms goats, which are always a crowd-favorite. additionally, they hold several farm festivals throughout the growing season that draws quite a crowd from northern virginia and beyond. 

objective

help a family-owned and operated farm reach more of a market at a lower cost per impression than their existing radio and print advertising methods.

strategy

the farm was long overdue for a rebrand, which included new logo, website, print collateral and a big investment in time and energy in original content creation.

creative output

the old westmoreland berry farm identity was heavy on the eyes. the logo was a very detailed illustration of an arrangement of fruits, some of which wasn’t grown on the farm. we revamped things to a more moden, minimalist identity that’s versatile across all possible print and digital applications. progress continued with the farm’s website, where we employed a much more vibrant (and mobile-friendly) design.

 

 

branding

the farm had a dated identity that was difficult to work with across the wide variety of digital mediums. we updated it with a cleaner, sleeker logo that would offered a much higher chance of recall and more versatility in use. 

website design

the westmoreland berry farm is one of our favorite website design projects. it’s also one of our most visited projects, topping more than 15K visitors in some of the busier months. the mobile-friendly layout helped visitors easily access the farm’s hours and berry availability.

content creation

time for boots and overalls! hyperbole got out into the fields dozens of times to properly showcase each grow season, from early spring to late fall. 

social media

our hands were full with farm festivals to promote! we used content from previous events and tagged the participating vendors as it was appropriate. targeted ads also were successful in reaching visitors who had never hitherto visited or heard of the farm.

if you’re going to have a festival, you need flyers. we created print and digital flyers for a strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, peach and fall apple festivals, as well as promotional artwork to share on facebook, instagram and twitter.

our results

a fresh take on life at the farm proved to be popular on social media. in addition to successful turnouts at the farm festivals, hyperbole was able to increase the westmoreland berry farm’s following significantly across facebook and instagram.
