A vehicle fire closed the northbound lanes of Patriot Highway late Sunday evening.
Units from Spotsylvania County Fire and Rescue received a call for a reported vehicle fire involving a tractor trailer at the corner of Patriot Highway and Market Street at approximately 10:45 PM on Sunday night.
On the scene, units encountered a fully engulfed semi-truck in front of the Chick-Fil-A restaurant, as seen in witness video provided to hyperbole. According to radio traffic, the driver was able to exit the vehicle uninjured and there were no other occupants inside.
The fire was quickly brought under control, but the truck was heavily damaged. The northbound lanes reopened to traffic shortly after 11:30 PM.
