An incident outside the Fredericksburg Visitor Center resulted in at least one suspect resisting arrest.
At approximately 6:30 PM on Saturday evening, several units from the Fredericksburg Police Department were observed outside the Visitor’s Center at 706 Caroline Street detaining two suspects driving a black Mercedes-Benz coupe.
A number of witnesses at the scene allege that the individuals parked their car in the parking spot reserved for Olde Town Carriage Tours (also a tow away zone) before then taking unknown substances and engaging in lewd acts. They say that after approximately 30 – 45 minutes, a report was made and an officer from the Fredericskburg Police Department arrived on scene and briskly approached the vehicle to investigate.
On the scene, officers were observed searching the Mercedes and cataloging several items as evidence. The two suspects, one male and one female, were already detained in separate police vehicles. At that time, the female suspect began yelling and kicking the back of the seat of the patrol car and ignored officers’ warnings to stop. A restraint helmet was retrieved and fitted to the female detainee before both suspects were taken away from the scene.
The vehicle was also towed from the scene.
