Shooting Reportedly Leaves One Dead On William Street Early Saturday Morning

Law Enforcement Currently Has No Description Of The Suspect
Detectives with the Fredericksburg Police Department investigate a shooting on William Street in downtown Fredericksburg.

At least one person is reportedly dead after a shooting on the 400 block of William Street early Saturday morning.

The incident was announced by the Fredericksburg Police Department in a CRIME ALERT at approximately 1:30 AM. That message announced a large law enforcement presence in the area investigating a shooting and that there was description of the suspect or suspects.

On the scene, multiple areas were marked off with evidence plaques in the area of two parked vehicles and half of the block is marked off with crime tape.

Multiple sources tell hyperbole that one individual was killed after being shot multiple times. Those reports are thus far unconfirmed.

Detectives were observed investigating the scene around 5:15 AM. That investigation is still ongoing near the corner of William Street and Charles Street as of 8:35 AM Saturday morning. Police ask that anyone with cameras or video footage of the event to contact their non-emergency line at (540) 373-3122.
