The Fredericksburg Police Department is currently investigating a reported shooting on Ivanhoe Court, off of Fall Hill Avenue.

At approximately 12:15 AM, a call for a reported injury was received in the 200 block of Ivanhoe Court, with the caller indicating it may possibly be a gunshot wound. According to radio traffic, EMS units were requested to stage nearby while officers attempted to locate the victim and the suspect.

On the scene, officers were observed speaking with a number of individuals in the parking lot, a section of which was roped off with crime scene tape. EMS units were eventually cleared after law enforcement confirmed there were no injuries.

A witness tells hyperbole that a group of women exited a vehicle and entered one of the homes, assaulting the homeowner there. That dispute spilled into the street before the homeowner allegedly discharged a firearm into the pavement, according to the witness.

At least two individuals were detained for questioning, though it’s unclear if any arrests were made. The investigation at the scene remains ongoing.
