At least one pedestrian is hospitalized after a motor vehicle crash in Spotsylvania County on Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 4:00 PM, a call was received for a struck pedestrian in the 11000 block of Leavells Road. The initial report indicated that an individual had been struck and dragged a distance by a vehicle and was now laying on the sidewalk.

On the scene, a dark colored sedan was observed in a field approximately 100 yards from a dislodged speed sign near the sidewalk. Officers from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene and appeared to be speaking with the driver of the vehicle. Radio traffic indicated that an individual was being transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Deputies remained on the scene to continue their investigation.
Sunday afternoon’s incident followed another struck pedestrian reported on the 1900 block of Princess Anne Street last week. That individual did not require medical attention.
