Loisann’s Hope House Sends 34 Students Back-To-School

Children at Loisann's Hope House in Fredericksburg, Virginia are getting ready to go back to school.

With two weeks of summer vacation left, the kids at Loisann’s Hope House in Fredericksburg, VA begin to turn their attention to the new school year.

Fredericksburg’s oldest and largest family homeless shelter is sending 16 elementary school, 5 middle school, 6 high school and 7 Head Start students back to the classroom in the coming weeks. Kids will attend Fredericksburg City Schools, as well those in the surrounding counties.

The organization is looking for assistance with school supplies, as well as extras to incoming children throughout the year. Their most needed items include 3 and 5 subject notebooks, composition books, binders (1, 2 and 3″), primary journals, colored pencils, pencils, highlighters and more.

In addition to school supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, twin bedding and general cleaning supplies are also in desperate need. These items are provided to shelter residents, covering their basic needs and also serves as essential support when they move into their own housing.
