At least one individual was injured following an incident at a Fredericksburg Home Depot on Wednesday evening.
Shortly before 10:00 PM, a call was received for a reported motor vehicle accident inside a structure on the 1200 block of Gateway Boulevard off of Plank Road.
On the scene, a dark colored SUV was observed on the sidewalk directly in front of the right side entrance of the store, which appeared to have displaced a number of shopping carts and damaged the doors.
Additional radio traffic indicated that at least one individual suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was receiving CPR from first responders before being taken to a local hospital for treatment.
One officer was observed returning a ballistic shield to their vehicle, while another appeared to receive minor first aid from a third officer.
A public information officer with the city could not immediately be reached for comment.

Update (09/18/25 at 12:49 PM): Public Information Officer Caitlyn McGhee provided the following update: “This incident remains under investigation. There was no use of force by any officers, and no officers were injured.”
