Fredericksburg May Get New Day Care

The City Council Will Review The Request At Tuesday's Meeting
Fredericksburg may soon be home to a new day care at 105 Classic Court.

A new day care may soon be coming to the city.

According to their agenda, the Fredericksburg City Council will hear a proposal for a Special Use Permit at 105 Classic Court, a newly constructed office complex off of Lafayette Boulevard.

Submitted by Bernadette Fumbanks of Mrs. Bee’s Learning Academy, the application seeks to convert a commercial office unit into a child care center for up to 96 children. It includes all necessary building improvements as well as an outdoor play area and designated crosswalk.

The business would be the new building’s first tenant.

The one-acre property is zoned Commercial-Office Transitional and a Special Use Permit is required for child care facilities. The Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend the approval of the permit, 7-0.

The Fredericksburg City Council meets for their second regular meeting this month on Tuesday at 7:30 PM at City Hall.
