Like other areas around the country, the Fredericksburg region has experienced drone sightings, too.

Sightings of “suspicious drones” have been reported over Stafford, Spotsylvania and King George counties, according to a Facebook post from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday afternoon. The department has spoken with federal law enforcement agencies regarding the drones and is aware of the recent activity reported around the area. The sheriff’s office requests that any information or tips be submitted to the FBI and Federal Aviation Administration’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Report Center.

The King George County Sheriff’s Office made a similar announcement on Wednesday.

A number of posts detailing sightings were also published on the King George Community Facebook group. In addition to Virginia, other reports of drone sightings have occurred in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The contact information for the aforementioned agencies is listed below:

FBI: 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or tips.fbi.gov
FAA UAS: (844) 359-6982 or uashelp@faa.gov
