Downtown Coffee Shop Vandalized Overnight

The Suspect Was Reportedly Apprehended By Law Enforcement
Downtown Fredericksburg's Hyperion Espresso coffee shop was vandalized early Monday morning.

A downtown coffee shop was vandalized early Monday morning.

Hyperion Espresso, which occupies the corner of William and Princess Anne Street in downtown Fredericksburg, had a number of windows broken and the front glass door entrance cracked overnight.

According to witnesses at the scene, an intoxicated male used one of the business’s stanchion supporters and broom handles to cause the damage to the business after it wasn’t available to serve coffee at approximately 3:00 AM. That individual was reportedly apprehended by law enforcement. The exact charges at this time are unknown.

Employees from Hyperion Espresso were observed cleaning up the broken glass and covering the broken windows with cardboard for the time being. The business is closed for repairs, but hopes to open later in the morning to serve customers.
