Arrests Announced In Fire Station Vehicle Break-In

Three Suspects, Including One Juvenile, Are Currently In Custody
Break-ins have been reported at personal vehicles outside of fire stations around the region since late 2024.

Three arrests have potentially been made in the string of vehicle break-ins at fire stations around the region.

In a Facebook post, the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has announced three suspects were apprehended on the morning of Wednesday, January 23rd after a traffic spot near suspected vehicle break-in. Two adults are in custody at the Pamunkey Regional Jail and a detainer is being sought for an additional juvenile suspect. The statement says that all three names are being withheld at this time citing ongoing investigations in multiple jurisdictions.

The traffic stop occurred after Hanover Fire and EMS Station 4 experienced several break-ins of personal vehicles earlier that morning. The suspect’s vehicle was apparently identified at this scene.

It would appear investigators feel confident the apprehended suspects are responsible for the string of break-ins around the region.

“Through thorough police work and excellent communication, we were able to identify and take action on a group that has a significant impact on the Fire and EMS first responder community,” the statement read.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office’s press release also credited a number of regional agencies with their assistance in the investigation, including the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

hyperbole was first to report on vehicle break-ins at several area fire stations two weeks ago, including Spotsylvania County Fire Stations 4 and 6 as well as Fredericksburg’s Fire Station 2 and Stafford County’s Fire Station 12. Those incidents were preceded by reported vehicle break-ins in Richmond and Henrico County.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information related to the case to contact them at (804) 365-6140.
