A structure fire at the Residences of Belmont apartment community displaced at least on resident and resulted in a multi-unit response on Saturday night.

At approximately 9:15 PM, a call was received for a structure fire in the 1500 block of Manor Drive, off of Cowan Boulevard. As units arrived on the scene, radio traffic indicated the presence of a small fire in the living rooms of one of the 3rd floor apartment units. Firefighters from Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania and Stafford worked to conduct two searches of the complex while additional crew worked to ventilate the roof. After a short time, the scene was deemed clear.

Fredericksburg Fire Department Chief Michael Jones tells hyperbole that at least one resident was displaced and that the cause of the fire is under investigation. An update won’t be available until Monday morning at the earliest.
