Additional charges have been filed in last week’s fatal shooting of Fredericksburg teen Oscar Mejia.
Emmanuel Killeen, 24, of Fredericksburg has now been charged with first degree murder and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony (1st degree), according to the Fredericksburg Police Department. Previously named a “person of interest” in the shooting, Killeen was originally charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
According to a Monday afternoon press release, additional evidence and witness interviews led to the additional charges.
Family and friends held a vigil for Mejia at the scene of his murder last Thursday evening. A visitation will be held at Agape Life Services tonight from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM before he is laid to rest tomorrow afternoon.
