Fredericksburg Christmas Parade Draws Tens Of Thousands

Event Completed Without A Single Arrest

A crowd between 20,000 and 30,000 people visited downtown Fredericksburg to watch Saturday’s annual Christmas Parade, according to Fredericksburg Police Department Public Information Officer Sarah Morris.

This year’s event required more than 60 officers from the Fredericksburg Police Department, Fredericksburg Sheriff’s Office and the Fredericksburg Fire Department, 30 volunteers, as well as staff from Fredericksburg Parks, Events and Recreation, Public Works and Economic Development and Tourism.

Last year’s attendance was estimated to be approximately 8,000. Despite the increase in crowd size, there were no arrests.
