First responders converged on the Forest Village apartment complex on Fall Hill Avenue late Saturday evening for simultaneous emergency calls.

Units from the Fredericksburg Fire Department arrived on the scene around 9:00 PM for a reported fire in the 1200 building. They discovered smoke in a downstairs apartment resulting from a cake baking in the oven. The building was cleared of residents and ventilated, though it’s unclear if the apartment can be reoccupied. Nobody was injured.

At the same time, officers with the Fredericksburg Police Department were investigating a report of shots fired outside the 500 building. Several officers were observed searching the area and surrounding buildings. No suspects were apprehended.
