🔴 Evictions Working Group To Hold October Meeting

The Fredericksburg Continuum of Care’s Evictions Working Group will hold its monthly meeting this week. In September, the group discussed ongoing eviction trends in the region, as well as adding additional data to include racial demographics, the percent of rental units in each county and the success rate for cases of those facing eviction.

Virginia had more than 13,000 unlawful detainer filings in the month of June. The group’s most recently available data indicates that nearly a third of those eviction cases end in default judgment in favor of the landlord, often due to the tenant not showing for court.

The Evictions Working Group will meet at the George Washington Regional Commission on Wednesday, October 1st at 2:00 PM. The meetings are free and open to the public.
