An assault and armed robbery occurred at the Visitor Center in downtown Fredericksburg early Wednesday evening.
Officers from the Fredericksburg Police Department responded to the parking lot at 700 Caroline Street shortly after 6:00 PM. According to witnesses at the scene, the suspect punched the victim before pulling a knife, taking their personal property and fleeing the scene.
The suspect was an acquaintance of the victim, who did not need medical attention.
